Softball Recap: Bentonville Beats Har-Ber for Their Sixth Straight Win

Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but only Bentonville walked away with it. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 4-3 victory over the Har-Ber Wildcats on Saturday. That's two games straight that the Tigers have won by just one run.

Darby Burnett spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned (and two unearned) runs on two hits and racked up 13 Ks. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than one earned run in five consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Bentonville saw seven different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Demi Donahoe, who went 2-for-4 with one run and one double. Violet Nguyen was another, going 2-for-3 with one run.

The win (which was Bentonville's sixth in a row) raised their record to 27-4. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 11.2 runs over those games. As for Har-Ber, their defeat dropped their record down to 20-5.

As of now, neither Bentonville nor the Wildcats have any future games scheduled.
