Softball Recap: Bentonville Tigers vs. Har-Ber Wildcats
Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but only Bentonville walked away with it. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 4-3 victory over the Har-Ber Wildcats on Saturday. That's two games straight that the Tigers have won by just one run.
Darby Burnett spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned (and two unearned) runs on two hits and racked up 13 Ks. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than one earned run in five consecutive appearances.
At the plate, Bentonville saw seven different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Demi Donahoe, who went 2-for-4 with one run and one double. Violet Nguyen was another, going 2-for-3 with one run.
