Preview: Leetonia Bears vs. United Golden Eagles
Leetonia is 1-9 against United since December of 2018 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Tuesday. The Leetonia Bears will look to defend their home court against the United Golden Eagles at 7:00 p.m. Given that the pair suffered a loss in their last game, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this matchup.
Last Saturday, Leetonia was just a bucket shy of victory and fell 39-38 to McKinley. Leetonia has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Leetonia's defeat shouldn't obscure the performances of Dylan Johns, who scored 13 points, and Ashbee Merritt who scored 14 points along with five rebounds.
Meanwhile, United came up short against Valley Christian on Friday and fell 63-52.
Leetonia's loss dropped their record down to 3-11. As for United, their loss dropped their record down to 4-7.
Things could have been worse for Leetonia, but things could have been a whole lot better as they took a 39-21 loss to United in their previous matchup back in January of 2023. Can Leetonia avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
