Volleyball Game Preview: Southlake Carroll Dragons vs. Byron Nelson Bobcat

Southlake Carroll and Byron Nelson are an even 5-5 against one another since October of 2021, but not for long. The Dragons will host the Bobcat at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Each of these teams will be fighting to keep a win streak alive as Southlake Carroll comes in on four and Byron Nelson on 65.

The home team had won the previous three meetings between Southlake Carroll and Keller Central, and Southlake Carroll kept the tradition alive. The Dragons put the hurt on the Chargers with a sharp 3-0 win on Tuesday.

Not only was the match a shutout, it was a big one: Southlake Carroll took every set by at least 12 points. The match finished with set scores of 25-10, 25-13, 25-10.

Southlake Carroll can attribute much of their success to Collins Alonzo, who had 18 digs and two assists, and Emma VanTassel, who had eight assists and four digs. That's the most assists VanTassel has posted since back in August. Hattie Peters also deserves some recognition as she posted her first assist of the season.

Meanwhile, Byron Nelson got the win against Keller Central on Friday by a conclusive 3-0.

The 3-0 score doesn't show just how dominant Byron Nelson was: they took every set by at least 16 points. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-5, 25-7, 25-9.

Byron Nelson's victory bumped their record up to 29-0. As for Southlake Carroll, their win bumped their record up to 21-4.
