Basketball Game Preview: Silver Lake Eagles vs. Holton Wildcats

Having just played yesterday, the Silver Lake Eagles will head out on the road to face off against the Holton Wildcats at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Silver Lake has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games.

It was a Battle of the Birds when Silver Lake faced off against Riley County on Tuesday. Silver Lake snuck past Riley County with a 63-59 victory. Given the Eagles' advantage in MaxPreps' Kansas basketball rankings (they are ranked 63rd, while the Falcons are ranked 217th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Holton). They took down Royal Valley 55-38 on Tuesday. The win was familiar territory for the Wildcats who have now won three contests in a row.

Silver Lake's victory bumped their record up to 9-4. As for Holton, their win was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 5-8.

Silver Lake strolled past Holton in their previous meeting back in December of 2024 by a score of 67-50. The rematch might be a little tougher for Silver Lake since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
