Softball Recap: Wednesday's Win Is Danvers' Third in Last Four Outings

Danvers lost to Masconomet Regional back in April, but they didn't allow them the same satisfaction on Wednesday. The Falcons came out on top against the Chieftains by a score of 6-2.

Skylar Coakley was a major factor while hitting and pitching. She pitched seven innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off seven hits. Coakley was also big at the plate, going a perfect 2-for-2 with one RBI.

In other batting news, Gianna Ferraro was excellent, going 2-for-3 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI. Those two hits gave her a new career-high. Addi McCarty was another key player, earning one RBI, one run, and one stolen base.

Danvers was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .391. They are a perfect 4-0 when they post a batting average of .375 or better.

Danvers has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four games. That's provided a nice bump to their 7-5 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.3 runs over those games. As for Masconomet Regional, they dropped their record down to 7-8 with the defeat, which was their fourth straight on the road.

Coming up, Danvers will welcome Saugus at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday. As for Masconomet Regional, they will venture away from home to face off against Swampscott at 4:30 p.m. on Monday.
