A Season-Best Effort from Wyatt Walker Leads Kent Denver over Hinkley

Wyatt Walker produced his most outstanding game to date while leading Kent Denver to the win on Saturday. Walker rushed for 200 yards while picking up 11.1 yards per carry, good enough to set a new career-high in rushing yards in the process.

If history really does repeat itself, Walker might just drop another big game when he faces off against Englewood on Saturday. When Walker last faced the Pirates back in October of 2023, he rushed for 125 yards and two touchdowns, and also picked up 45 receiving yards and a touchdown.

Deon Robinson Delivers Electric Performance Vs Bennett

Deon Robinson was instrumental in extending Englewood's winning streak to three on Friday. Bennett had no answer to Robinson as he rushed for 113 yards and a touchdown while picking up 7.1 yards per carry. Robinson also deserves a shoutout for his performance on D, making eight total tackles (1.0 for loss) and defending a pass.

For the year, Robinson has run in 12 touchdowns while averaging 129.2 rushing yards per game. He is looking even better than he did last year: after five games last season, he had two rushing touchdowns.

Big Game from Mael As Englewood Won 28-12

Logan Mael posted a new career-high in rushing yards on Friday. He rushed for 136 yards and a touchdown on only 11 carries. He also deserves a shoutout for his performance on D, making ten total tackles and defending a pass.

On the year, Mael has averaged 21 receiving yards per game.

While Cougar Cronk delivered a dominant performance on Friday, a win just wasn't in the cards for Bennett. Cronk was dynamite, rushing for 78 yards and a touchdown. He also put in work on the defensive side of the ball, making a tackle and defending a pass in addition to snagging an interception.

Bennett is on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-5. A feisty cat fight will be fought when Tigers faces off against Elizabeth at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.

Yianni Balafas Makes It Two for Kent Denver

Another Kent Denver player making an appearance on this list is Yianni Balafas. He threw for 105 yards and two touchdowns on only nine passes, and also rushed for 30 yards.

Balafas might have his next game, a home matchup with Englewood, circled on his calendar. Back in October of 2023 (the last time Balafas saw the Pirates), he threw for 230 yards and three touchdowns while completing 85% of his passes, and also rushed for 65 yards and a touchdown.
