Soccer Game Preview: Shadow Ridge vs. Valley Vista

The Shadow Ridge Stallions will face off against the Valley Vista Monsoon at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Shadow Ridge has seven straight victories, Valley Vista has ten straight defeats), but none of that matters once you're on the pitch.

Shadow Ridge's defense heads into the match hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Monday. They had just enough and edged Apollo out 1-0. The Stallions' winning goal came courtesy of Nathan Johansen.

Meanwhile, Valley Vista fell victim to Tolleson and their airtight defense on Monday. They lost 8-0 to the Wolverines. While losing is never fun, the Monsoon can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Arizona soccer rankings (they are ranked 157th, while the Wolverines are ranked 23rd).

Shadow Ridge's win was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 12-5-2. As for Valley Vista, their loss dropped their record down to 2-10.

Everything went Shadow Ridge's way against Valley Vista in their previous meeting back in January of 2024, as Shadow Ridge made off with an 8-0 victory. Does Shadow Ridge have another victory up their sleeve, or will Valley Vista turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
