Southern got themselves on the board against North Bullitt on Tuesday, but North Bullitt never followed suit. They walked away with a 4-0 victory over the Eagles. This was payback for the Trojans, who suffered a 10-4 loss the last time these two teams met.

Richard Hernandez made a big impact while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run while striking out seven over six innings pitched. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up a single earned run in five consecutive appearances. He was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with one double. That double was his first of the season.

Hernandez wasn't the only one making solid contact as five players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was JuJu Bates, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with one RBI. That's the most hits Bates has posted since back in March.

Southern has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 15-7 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.9 runs on average over those games. As for North Bullitt, their defeat ended a five-game streak of away wins and brought them to 17-6.

Looking ahead, Southern will welcome Butler at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for North Bullitt, they will challenge Collins at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday.
