Basketball Recap: Meridian Comes Up Short

Meridian was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They were outmatched by the Providence Prep Rams and fell 71-13. The contest marked the Lions' lowest-scoring matchup so far this season.

Providence Prep's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Lilly Hodge, who dropped a double-double on 15 points and ten rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Iris Patrick, who almost dropped a double-double on 12 points and nine boards.

Meridian's loss dropped their record down to 1-5. As for Providence Prep, they have been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four games, which provided a nice bump to their 11-5 record this season.

Meridian does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Providence Prep, they will take on St. Mary's at 5:31 p.m. on Tuesday. Providence Prep is facing St. Mary's at the right time seeing as St. Mary's is stuck on a six-game losing streak.
