Football Recap: West Nassau Takes Down Global Outreach Charter Academy in a Playoff Battle

Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but only West Nassau walked away with it. They came out on top against the Global Outreach Charter Academy Kodiaks by a score of 20-12 on Monday. The Warriors haven't had any issues with the Kodiaks recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive win against them.

Payton Jefferson looked great while leading her team to the win, throwing for 151 yards and a pair of TDs. What's more, she racked up 111.6 passer rating, the most she's had since back in February. Aime Paulson also helped with two scores in total.

West Nassau didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of Mariah Coleman and Paulson. Coleman also put up 30 receiving yards, which were her first of the season. Paulson got in on the action too, converting a pick into a touchdown.

West Nassau's victory bumped their record up to 9-3. As for Global Outreach Charter Academy, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 2-12.

Looking ahead, West Nassau will challenge Andrew Jackson at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The two teams have allowed few points on average (the Warriors 8.7, the Tigers 10.6) so any points scored will be well earned. Global Outreach Charter Academy does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
