Basketball Game Preview: Groveport-Madison Cruisers vs. Teays Valley Vikings

The Groveport-Madison Cruisers will take on the Teays Valley Vikings at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Groveport-Madison has six straight wins, Teays Valley has eight straight losses), but none of that matters once you're on the court.

Groveport-Madison is headed into the contest after thoroughly thrashing Grove City: they outscored them in every quarter. Groveport-Madison was the clear victor by a 76-52 margin over Grove City on Tuesday. Given the Cruisers' advantage in MaxPreps' Ohio basketball rankings (they are ranked 75th, while the Greyhounds are ranked 353rd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Meanwhile, Teays Valley had to suffer through a 72-39 loss at the hands of Bishop Watterson.

Groveport-Madison pushed their record up to 11-4 with the victory, which was their fourth straight on the road. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 59.8 points per game. As for Teays Valley, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-14.

Everything went Groveport-Madison's way against Teays Valley in their previous matchup back in December of 2024, as Groveport-Madison made off with a 61-38 win.
