Softball Recap: Covina Colts vs. San Dimas Saints

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Charter Oak, Covina was happy to have turned things around on Wednesday. They narrowly escaped with a win as the team sidled past the San Dimas Saints 4-2. This was payback for Covina, who suffered a 7-2 defeat the last time these two teams met.

Lexi Sumpter spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned (and one unearned) run on six hits. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't pitched less than five innings in six consecutive pitching appearances.
