It was a good run, but Oak Ridge unfortunately witnessed the end of their eight-game winning streak on Tuesday. They fell just short of the Granite Bay Grizzlies by a score of 14-12. Having soared to a lofty 34 points in the game before, the Trojans couldn't push the score so high this time.

When it comes to explaining why Oak Ridge lost, don't look at Laurel Smart. Despite the final result, she picked up 73 receiving yards and two touchdowns. Taylor Lemos also helped out with an impressive 82 receiving yards.

Oak Ridge didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off four passes before the game was over. Rylee Tibon led the group effort, picking up two of those interceptions all by herself. Another thorn in Granite Bay's side was Siena Maher, who made 12 total tackles.

Oak Ridge's defeat was their first in the league, dropping their league record down to 8-1 and their overall record down to 12-2. As for Granite Bay, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 8-2.

The two teams have allowed few points on average (the Trojans 6.5, the Troubadours 10.8) so any points scored will be well earned. Meanwhile, Granite Bay is set to challenge their familiar foe Whitney at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday.
