Softball Recap: Redmond Panthers vs. Caldera
Redmond had lost three straight at home, but on Friday they dropped their record down to 4-11-1 to make it four. They lost 19-7 to Caldera. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against Caldera this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 15-5 last Tuesday.
As for Caldera, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven matches. That's provided a massive bump to their 8-10 record this season. The result was nothing new for Caldera, who have now won six contests by seven runs or more so far this season.
For Caldera's part, the team relied heavily on Elle Morton, who fired off three home runs, six RBI, and four runs while going 4-for-4. That's the most RBI Morton has posted since back in March. The team also got some help courtesy of Morgan Voll, who went 4-for-5 with one home run, three runs, and one stolen base.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Redmond will square off against Ridgeview at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The Ravens will roll in looking for their 18th straight win, something the Panthers surely won't give up without a fight. As for Caldera, they will head out on the road to square off against Summit at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Caldera are facing the Storm at the right time seeing as the Storm are stuck on a six-game losing streak.
