League recap: Durham runs winning streak to 11

Sacramento Valley league recap: 5/14/12

Sacramento Valley's longest active winning streak belongs to Durham (17-1, 10-0), undefeated over its last 11 games. Two of those wins came in the past week, including a 16-4 victory over Pierce and a 16-4 win over Pierce.

Live Oak is now in the midst of a 18-game losing streak.

Colusa's pitching was especially stingy this week, allowing 11 hits and three walks to lead the league in both categories. The RedHawks have given up a mere 143 hits on the year in addition to compiling 105 strikeouts. Ross Cervantes is the leader in that category with 29 Ks on the season.

The week's strikeout crown belonged to Jordan Hillis, who turned in two Ks for Colusa. He's ninth in the league with eight total strikeouts.

Trinity's Cody Higgins led the league with six hits this week. On the season, he's hitting .436 and ranks third in the league with 24 hits.
