Softball Preview: Presidio Blue Devils vs. Kermit Yellow Jackets

Presidio is 9-1 against Kermit since May of 2015, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Friday. The Presidio Blue Devils will be playing in front of their home fans against the Kermit Yellow Jackets at 5:00 p.m. Presidio will be looking to keep their three-game home win streak alive.

Presidio fell victim to Stanton and their airtight pitching crew on Tuesday. They took a 3-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Buffaloes. While getting shut out isn't ideal, Presidio has not been shut out since back in March.

Meanwhile, Kermit can now show off four landslide victories after their most recent contest on Tuesday. Everything went their way against Crane as Kermit made off with a 19-3 victory. The win made it back-to-back victories for Kermit.

Giselle Garcia made a big impact while hitting and pitching. She struck out eight batters over four innings while giving up just two earned (and one unearned) runs off three hits (and not a single walk). Garcia was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with an RBI.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Iris Lujan, who went 3-for-4 with a home run, four RBI, and two runs. Azlene Valencia was another key contributor, scoring two runs and stealing a base while getting on base in three of her four plate appearances.
