Softball Game Preview: Owen Warhorses vs. Rosman Tigers

For the second straight game, Owen will face off against Rosman. The Warhorses will head out to face off against the Tigers at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. One thing working in Owen's favor is that they have posted at least ten runs in their last four contests.

On Wednesday, Owen made easy work of Rosman and carried off an 11-5 win. Considering the Warhorses have won ten games by more than five runs this season, Wednesday's blowout was nothing new.

Sophie Neal spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered four earned (and one unearned) runs on four hits and racked up 13 Ks. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in three consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Mia Roland was incredible, getting on base in all four of her plate appearances with two stolen bases, three runs, and one triple. She has been hot recently, having posted two or more stolen bases the last three times she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Hannah Norton, who went 1-for-3 with one home run, three runs, and two RBI.

Owen's victory was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 11-3. The home wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 13.3 runs over those games. As for Rosman, their defeat ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 8-9.
