Baseball Game Preview: Indian Hills Braves vs. Ridgefield Park Scarlets

The Indian Hills Braves will square off against the Ridgefield Park Scarlets at 4:15 p.m. on Friday. Both come into the game bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

On Wednesday, it was close, but Indian Hills sidestepped Ramsey for a 5-4 win.

Kenny DeFeo tossed a big game, tossing six innings while giving up three earned (and one unearned) runs off six hits.

At the plate, Indian Hills saw six different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Ryan Hurley, who went 2-for-4 with one stolen base and one run. Charlie Brugna was another, earning one run and two stolen bases.

Meanwhile, Ridgefield Park had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 8 runs) and they went ahead and made it three on Tuesday. They never let the Maroon Raiders get on the board and left with a 7-0 victory. Considering the Scarlets have won four contests by more than six runs this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.

Justin Maldonado was incredible, going a perfect 3-for-3 with two stolen bases, two RBI, and one run. Ridgefield Park is undefeated when Maldonado posts two or more stolen bases, but 4-5 otherwise. Another player making a difference was Mike Clement, who got on base in three of his four plate appearances with one run and one double.

Ridgefield Park's win bumped their record up to 7-5. As for Indian Hills, they now have a winning record of 8-7.
