Recap: Platteview Trojans vs. Waverly Vikings

The Platteview Trojans had to endure a four-game losing streak, but that streak is no more. They slipped by Waverly 51-50 on Thursday. The victory was just what Platteview needed coming off of a 63-38 defeat in their prior match.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Platteview to victory, but perhaps none more so than Braden Staudt, who dropped a double-double on 12 points and 12 rebounds. Another player making a difference was Elijah Steele, who scored 15 points along with six rebounds.

Several Vikings players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Isaac Clarke, who scored 12 points. Clarke continues to roll, besting his previous point total in each of the last four games he's played. Nathan Axmann was another key contributor, scoring 11 points.

Platteview pushed their record up to 13-10 with that win, which was their fourth straight at home. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 57.5 points per game. As for Waverly, their loss dropped their record down to 10-12.

Platteview does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Waverly also has no future games currently scheduled.
