Baseball Recap: Manchester Wins Going Away Against Oak Hill

Manchester barely beat Oak Hill the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Squires put the hurt on the Golden Eagles with a sharp 10-2 victory on Monday. Considering the Squires have won five matches by more than seven runs this season, Monday's blowout was nothing new.

Landen Bean spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered just two earned runs on eight hits.

At the plate, Ethan Hendrix was incredible, going 1-for-3 with one home run and five RBI. Those five RBI gave him a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Reiss Gaerte, who went 1-for-2 with two stolen bases, one run, and one RBI.

Manchester's win bumped their record up to 6-2. As for Oak Hill, they have been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 5-5 record this season.

Manchester will be playing at home against Maconaquah at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday. The Squires' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Braves have averaged an impressive 7.4 runs per game this season. As for Oak Hill, they will square off against Alexandria-Monroe at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday.
