Soccer Game Preview: Newport Harbor vs. Huntington Beach

Newport Harbor and Huntington Beach are an even 4-4-2 against one another since January of 2018, but likely not for long. The Newport Harbor Sailors are taking a road trip to challenge the Huntington Beach Oilers at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday.

Newport Harbor is headed in fresh off scoring the most goals they have all season. They took a 5-3 hit to the loss column at the hands of Fountain Valley on Friday. The Sailors have struggled against the Barons recently, as the game was their third consecutive lost matchup.

Meanwhile, on WednesdayMarina kept up with Huntington Beach until halftime, but afterwards: not so much. Huntington Beach never let Marina onto the board and left with a 5-0 victory. The game marked the Oilers' most dominant win of the season.

The victory made it two in a row for Huntington Beach and bumps their season record up to 8-5-3. As for Newport Harbor, their defeat dropped their record down to 4-7.

Newport Harbor suffered a grim 4-1 defeat to Huntington Beach in their previous meeting back in December of 2024. Can Newport Harbor avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
