Baseball Recap: Lehi Takes a Loss

Lehi had lost four straight on the road, but on Friday they dropped their record down to 12-10 to make it five. They lost 9-3 to the Pleasant Grove Vikings. Give some credit to the fans of both teams: the last three times they've met, the home team has come away the winner.

Dawson Brown made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and went 2-for-3 with one home run and two RBI.

As for Pleasant Grove, their record is now 18-4. They might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won 12 contests by six runs or more this season.

On Pleasant Grove's side, they got a great performance from Van Haynie as he struck out eight batters over five innings while giving up three earned runs off five hits. That's the most strikeouts Haynie has posted since back in April of 2024.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Drew Smith, who went 3-for-5 with two runs, two RBI, and one double. That's the most hits he has posted since back in April. Another player making a difference was Nash Bennett, who went 2-for-4 with two runs and two RBI.

We've got plenty of inter-region action coming up soon. Lehi will face off against rival Skyridge at 3:30 p.m. on Monday. Meanwhile, Pleasant Grove is set to square off against their familiar foe Lone Peak at 3:30 p.m. on Monday.
