Soccer Game Preview: Naperville North vs. Naperville Central

The Naperville North Huskies will challenge the Naperville Central Redhawks at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. Each of these teams will be fighting to keep a win streak alive as Naperville North comes in on three and Naperville Central on nine.

Naperville North's defense heads into the matchup hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Tuesday. They came out on top against Waubonsie Valley by a score of 2-0. The final result isn't all the surprising considering Naperville North's considerable advantage in MaxPreps' Illinois soccer rankings (they are ranked 20th, while Waubonsie Valley are ranked 115th).

Lauren Pera and Alexa Surdyk scored both of Naperville North's goals, bringing their combined season tally to four goals.

Meanwhile, Naperville Central's game on Tuesday was all tied up 0-0 at the half, but luckily for them it didn't stay that way. Everything went their way against Metea Valley as they made off with a 3-0 victory. Naperville Central might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won 11 games by three goals or more this season.

Naperville Central pushed their record up to 15-1-1 with the win, which was their seventh straight on the road. Those road victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 34 goals over those seven contests. As for Naperville North, their win bumped their record up to 9-2-5.
