Softball Game Preview: Paschal Panthers vs. Bushland Falcons

The Paschal Panthers will challenge the Bushland Falcons at 9:00 a.m. on Thursday. Keep an eye on the score for this one: the two teams posted some lofty run totals in their previous games.

Paschal is headed in fresh off scoring the most runs they have all season. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with an 11-9 win over South Hills on Tuesday. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Panthers have posted since March 22, 2024.

Meanwhile, Bushland made easy work of Pampa on Tuesday and carried off a 21-4 win. The victory continues a trend for the Falcons in their matchups with the Harvesters: they've now won eight in a row.

The team relied heavily on Charley Spinks, who fired off three home runs and eight RBI while going 3-for-4. Those three home runs gave her a new career-high. Piper Francis was another key player, firing off two home runs and four runs while going 2-for-4.

Bushland always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .605. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Pampa only posted an OBP of .458.

Paschal's win ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 2-6. As for Bushland, their victory bumped their record up to 3-6.

Paschal came up short against Bushland when the teams last played back in March of 2023, falling 8-5. Can Paschal avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
