Recap: Franklin Cougars vs. Clint Lions
The Franklin Cougars won the last time they faced the Clint Lions, and things went their way on Saturday too. Franklin blew past Clint, posting a 79-19 win on the road. Given Franklin's advantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 176th, while Clint is ranked 1141st), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Franklin had a senior duo take command as Max Mu?oz scored 21 points along with 8 rebounds and Jose Escobedo scored 18 points along with 7 rebounds. Darion Mitchell was another key contributor, scoring 5 points along with 5 assists and 5 rebounds.
Franklin is on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five games, which provided a nice bump to their 7-4 record this season. As for Clint, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-5.
Coincidentally, the two teams will both be playing Burges the next time they take the court. Franklin will head out to face Burges at 9:00 a.m. on Saturday, while Clint will head out to face them at 9:00 a.m. on Tuesday.
