Volleyball Recap: Dynamic Duo of Payton Hanson and Mikayla Mcqueeney Lead Monona Grove to Victory

It's playoff time, and Monona Grove had no trouble coming through when it counted. They came out on top against the Sun Prairie East Cardinals by a score of 3-1 on Thursday. That's the fourth time they've managed to beat them this season, with their most recent victory being a 2-0 win back in September.

Monona Grove was led to victory by Mikayla McQueeney and Payton Hanson. McQueeney had 13 digs and three aces, while Hanson had 13 digs and two aces. That's the most digs Hanson has posted since back in October of 2024.

They weren't the only good servers: Monona Grove was lethal from the service line and finished the match with 12 aces. They are 6-3 when they serve at least ten aces.

The win snapped Monona Grove's losing streak at three matches and leaves them with a 17-20 record. As for Sun Prairie East, they now have a losing record of 17-18.

Monona Grove has already played their next matchup, a 3-0 defeat against Holmen on the 25th. Sun Prairie East does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
