Basketball Recap: Louisa County's Luck Changes for the Better on Tuesday

Louisa County won the last time they faced Monticello, and Taylor Yeatts did her part to make sure it happened again. The Louisa County Lions strolled past the Monticello Mustangs with points to spare on Tuesday, taking the game 40-23 thanks in part to Yeatts, who went 5 for 11 en route to 19 points along with eight boards and five steals. She has been hot, having posted two or more steals the last five times she's played.

The team also got some help courtesy of Harlee Lowe, who posted nine points. The dominant performance also gave her a new career-high in assists (three).

With the victory, Louisa County broke their three-game losing streak and moved their record to 10-8. As for Monticello, they have been struggling recently as they've lost ten of their last 11 matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-16 record this season.

Louisa County has already played their next contest (against Goochland), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. Monticello will head out to take on Western Albemarle at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Western Albemarle has nine straight wins, Monticello has six straight defeats), but none of that matters once you're on the court.
