Jim Ned had won four straight on the road dating back to last season, but on Friday they bumped up to 2-0 to make it five. They won a match that couldn't have been any closer, slipping by the Trinity Leadership Tigers 23-22. The final result isn't all that surprising considering the Indians' considerable advantage in MaxPreps' Texas football rankings (they are ranked 254th, while the Tigers are ranked 685th).

The critical scores for Jim Ned came from Gavin Brooks, Breck Lawson, and Aiden Ellis.

Jim Ned didn't let much get past them through the air: they limited Trinity Leadership to a completion percentage of just 31.2%. That dominant aerial defense primarily came from two players: Lawson and Cason Cumby, who each logged two passes deflected. Jim Ned wasn't nearly as limited: they posted one of 53.8%.

As for Trinity Leadership, their loss dropped their record down to 0-2. They gained 148 more yards on the day, but it was Jim Ned that made the best use of them.
