Baseball Game Preview: Pinnacle Pioneers vs. O'Connor Eagles

The Pinnacle Pioneers will head out to square off against the O'Connor Eagles at 3:45 p.m. on Thursday.

Pinnacle had taken O'Connor down for two straight games at home, but that winning streak came to an end on Monday. The Pioneers fell 7-4 to the Eagles.

For O'Connor's part, they got a great performance from Cody Stoller as he didn't allow a single earned run while striking out seven over five innings pitched.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Brent Sollars, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with one home run, three runs, and three RBI. Those three RBI gave him a new career-high. Jacoby Noble was another key player, going 2-for-4 with two RBI and one double.

Pinnacle has been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 10-10-1 record this season. Those losses can't be blamed on the team's hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 6.8 runs over those games. As for O'Connor, their defeat ended a five-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 16-7.
