Softball Recap: East Chambers Has No Trouble Against Beaumont United

East Chambers was handed a heart-breaking two-run defeat in their last contest, but they sure didn't let that happen against Beaumont United on Tuesday. Everything went the East Chambers Buccaneers' way against the Beaumont United Timberwolves as the East Chambers Buccaneers made off with an 8-2 victory. That's more bragging rights for the Buccaneers, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

Destiney Deyoung made a splash no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out seven batters over 3.2 innings while giving up just one earned run off four hits (and not a single walk). She has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up more than one earned run every time she's pitched this season. She was also solid in the batter's box, scoring a run and stealing one base while getting on base in both of her plate appearances.

In other batting news, Kaydence Pinson was excellent, getting on base in both of her plate appearances with three stolen bases. Those three stolen bases gave her a new career-high. Kaydince Hebert was another key player, scoring two runs while going 1-for-1.

East Chambers now has a winning record of 2-1.

East Chambers will face off against Jasper at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Beaumont United, they will welcome Kelly Catholic at 6:00 p.m. on February 11th.
