Baseball Game Preview: Aransas Pass Panthers vs. Mathis Pirates

For the second straight game, Aransas Pass will face off against Mathis. The Panthers will head out to take on the Pirates at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.

Aransas Pass took a loss when they played away from home on Friday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Tuesday. They narrowly escaped with a win as the team sidled past Mathis 6-4.

The team relied heavily on Isaiah Vasquez, who got on base in all four of his plate appearances with two stolen bases and three runs. Those three runs gave him a new career-high.

The defeat snapped Mathis' winning streak at three games and leaves them with a 3-6 record. As for Aransas Pass, their victory was their first in the district, bumping their district record up to 1-2 and their overall record up to 6-14.
