Softball Recap: Walnut Ridge Beats Hoxie for Their Third Straight Victory

Walnut Ridge waltzed into their game on Monday with two straight wins... but they left with three. They came out on top against the Hoxie Mustangs by a score of 6-1. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 10-6 back in March.

Ashtyn Bradley spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered a run (which was unearned) on two hits and racked up ten Ks. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up a single earned run in three consecutive appearances.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Karlee Broadway, who went 2-for-4 with two runs and one stolen base. Another player making a difference was Bailei Hudson, who got on base in three of her four plate appearances with one run, one double, and one RBI.

Walnut Ridge's win bumped their record up to 13-4. As for Hoxie, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 10-7.

Looking ahead, Walnut Ridge will take on Buffalo Island Central at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Hoxie, they will face off against Trumann at 4:30 p.m. on Monday.
