Baseball Recap: Mullen Comes Up Short

Mullen was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their fourth straight loss. They fell 4-1 to the Eaglecrest Raptors. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Mustangs of the 4-0 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in May of 2025.

Brady Hirsh spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered three earned (and one unearned) runs on four hits and racked up ten Ks. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than two walks in three consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Mullen saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Clarke Shields, who went 2-for-3 with one double.

Mullen's record now sits at 7-13. As for Eaglecrest, their victory bumped their record up to 8-12.

While Mullen had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday.
