Basketball Game Preview: Bells Panthers vs. Leonard Tigers

A feisty cat fight is on tap when the Bells Panthers challenge the Leonard Tigers at 7:30 p.m. on Friday... The two teams are sauntering into the matchup backed by comfortable wins in their prior games.

Leonard will be up against a hot Bells team: the squad just extended their winning streak to five. Bells blew past Blue Ridge, posting a 71-40 victory. Given the Panthers' advantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 497th, while the Tigers are ranked 1301st), the result on Tuesday wasn't entirely unexpected.

Meanwhile, a well-balanced attack led Leonard over S & S Consolidated in every quarter on their way to victory on Tuesday. Given that consistent dominance, it should come as no surprise that Leonard blew S & S Consolidated out of the water with a 91-23 final score. The game was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 51-14.

Bells is on a roll lately: they've won nine of their last 12 contests, which provided a nice bump to their 17-8 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 51.4 points per game. As for Leonard, their win ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 17-8.
