Basketball Recap: Potomac Senior Falls Despite Big Games from Amani Asare and Yusef Navins

Potomac Senior has been a dominant force so far, but they're in the middle of a mini-slump at the moment. They took a 68-58 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Peninsula Catholic Knights on Saturday.

Potomac Senior's loss came despite strong showings from Yusef Navins and Amani Asare. Navins went 8 for 16 on his way to 21 points and seven rebounds, while Asare went 8 of 16 on his way to 20 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Damien Grundy, who posted six points.

Peninsula Catholic's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Justin Hunter, who put up 15 points. Jaylen Wynn was another key player, putting up 15 points.

Potomac Senior's loss dropped their record down to 7-4. As for Peninsula Catholic, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 10-8.

Potomac Senior will welcome Charles J. Colgan at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Potomac Senior is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 62.5 points per game this season. As for Peninsula Catholic, they will challenge Benedictine at 3:30 p.m. on January 11th.
