Baseball Recap: Huntsville Snags Seventh Victory in Last Eight Games

After losing to Sparkman the last time they met, Huntsville decided to demonstrate that turnabout is fair play. The Panthers came out on top against the Senators by a score of 6-2 on Saturday.

Reece Thomas spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered two runs (both of which were unearned) on five hits and racked up six Ks.

On the hitting side, Dylan Duster was excellent, scoring a run while going 1-for-3. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-high in RBI (three). Another player making a difference was Parker Hovis, who scored a run and stole a base while going 2-for-3.

Huntsville is on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last eight matches. That's provided a massive bump to their 15-16 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.6 runs on average over those games. As for Sparkman, their loss dropped their record down to 15-20.

Looking ahead, Huntsville will challenge St. John Paul II at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. The last three games the Falcons have played have been within two runs, so don't be surprised if it's a close one. As for Sparkman, they will face off against Arab at 6:00 p.m. on Monday.
