Volleyball Game Preview: Melrose Buffaloes vs. Gateway Christian Warriors

The Melrose Buffaloes will face off against the Gateway Christian Warriors at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday. Both teams are coming into the contest red-hot, with Melrose sitting on 16 straight wins and Gateway Christian on three.

Melrose is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Friday. They blew past Quemado 3-0.

Meanwhile, Gateway Christian posted their closest victory since October 14th on Friday. They narrowly escaped with a win as the team sidled past Elida 3-2. The game was the first time the Warriors have beaten the Tigers on their court since September 28, 2024.

Melrose's victory bumped their record up to 23-2. As for Gateway Christian, their win bumped their record up to 21-7.

Melrose came out on top in a nail-biter against Gateway Christian in their previous matchup last Tuesday, sneaking past 3-2. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Buffaloes since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
