While St. Joseph-by-the-Sea's win against Regis wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Vikings narrowly escaped with a victory as the team sidled past the Raiders 2-1. The Vikings haven't had any issues with the Raiders recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive win against them.

Anthony Garofalo tossed a big game, striking out nine batters over six innings while giving up just one earned run off two hits. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than two hits any time he's pitched this season.

At the plate, St. Joseph-by-the-Sea's victory was truly a team effort as three different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Gioacchino Bonsangue, who scored a run and stole a base while going 1-for-2.

St. Joseph-by-the-Sea's win was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 9-1. The road victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 0.7 runs on average over those games. As for Regis, they now have a losing record of 3-4.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. St. Joseph-by-the-Sea will venture away from home to face off against St. Raymond Boys at 12:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Regis, they will face off against Cardinal Hayes at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday. The Cardinals have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 10.4 runs per game on average), something the Raiders will no doubt try to take advantage of.
