Basketball Game Preview: Rison Wildcats vs. McGehee Owls

The Rison Wildcats will venture away from home to square off against the McGehee Owls at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. McGehee took a loss in their last contest and will be looking to turn the tables on Rison, who comes in off a win.

Rison will bounce into Tuesday's matchup after beating Central, who they had gone 0-4 against in their four prior meetings. Rison walked away with a 75-62 win over Central on Friday.

McGehee has been a dominant force so far, but they're in the middle of a mini-slump at the moment. They fell 44-36 to Dumas on Friday. The game marked the Owls' lowest-scoring contest so far this season.

Rison pushed their record up to 10-6 with the victory, which was their fourth straight at home. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 76.3 points per game. As for McGehee, their defeat ended a 12-game streak of away wins dating back to last season and brought them to 12-3.

Rison didn't have too much breathing room in their matchup against McGehee when the teams last played back in January of 2022, but they still walked away with a 44-40 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for Rison since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
