Basketball Game Preview: Ware County Gators vs. New Hampstead Phoenix

The Ware County Gators just played yesterday, but they'll still head out to face the New Hampstead Phoenix at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Ware County knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 55 points or more in their past 15 contests -- so hopefully New Hampstead likes a good challenge.

Ware County is probably headed into the game with a chip on their shoulder considering Calvary Christian just ended the team's six-game winning streak on Monday. They fell to the Knights 62-56. The loss was a bit of a surprise, as the Gators came into the match with a sizable advantage in MaxPreps' Georgia basketball rankings (they are ranked 92nd, while the Knights are ranked 290th).

Meanwhile, New Hampstead was able to grind out a solid win over Perry on Saturday, taking the game 62-49. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Phoenix.

Ware County's loss dropped their record down to 15-5. As for New Hampstead, they are on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five contests, which provided a massive bump to their 12-9 record this season.

Ware County beat New Hampstead 86-75 in their previous matchup two weeks ago. The rematch might be a little tougher for Ware County since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
