Football Game Preview: Natchez Bulldogs vs. Laurel Golden Tornadoes + Official Tickets

Natchez is 0-8 against Laurel since October of 2015 but things could change on Friday. The Bulldogs will head out on the road to square off against the Golden Tornadoes at 7:00 p.m. Natchez's defense has only allowed 14 points per game this season, so Laurel's offense will have their work cut out for them.

Natchez is headed in fresh off scoring the most points they have all season. They simply couldn't be stopped on Friday as they easily beat North Pike 44-14. The Bulldogs haven't had any issues with the Jaguars recently, as the game was their third consecutive victory against them.

Erik Hutchins, Jr and Joshua Barnes were among the main playmakers for Natchez as the former punched in three rushing scores and the latter rushed for 76 yards and one touchdown. Those 76 rushing yards gave Barnes a new career-high.

Natchez didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off three passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of Anthony Givens, Jr and Kyrin Johnson. Christian Batteaste was another major factor on D, picking up a sack, forcing one fumble, and making five total tackles (2.0 for loss).

Meanwhile, Laurel came up short against Brookhaven on Friday and fell 14-6.

Laurel's loss dropped their record down to 0-6. As for Natchez, the win got them back to even at 3-3.

Natchez was taken down by Laurel 42-12 when the teams last played back in October of 2022. Can the Bulldogs avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
