Baseball Recap: Branford Picks Up Ninth Straight Win at Home

Branford took a 15-run defeat the last time they faced off against Williston, but this time they managed to keep it close and that made all the difference. The Buccaneers narrowly escaped with a victory as the team sidled past the Red Devils 6-5. The win was familiar territory for the Buccaneers, who have now won four games in a row.

Jackson Skinner made a splash no matter where he played. On the mound, he tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than two hits in eight consecutive appearances. He was also stellar in the batter's box, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 3-for-4.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Jake Watkins, who scored a run while going 1-for-3. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-high in RBI (two). Troy Roberts was another key player, scoring two runs while going 2-for-3.

Branford hit smart and finished the game with only one strikeout. The team has now struck out at least five batters in four consecutive matchups.

Branford's victory was their ninth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 15-6. Those home wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.3 runs over those games. As for Williston, their record is now 11-8.
