Football Recap: Glendale Comes Up Short + How To Watch

Glendale managed to slip by Meyersdale the last time these teams faced off, but didn't have those same answers this time around. The Vikings were dealt a 44-16 defeat at the hands of the Red Raiders on Friday. The Vikings were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 37-16.

Logan Skebeck threw for 167 yards and a pair of TDs. Cameron Dreibelbis was his top target, picking up 76 receiving yards and one score.

This one was won in the trenches and the lion's share of the credit has to go to Caden Snyder and Spencer Whitfield. Snyder gained 76 total yards and two touchdowns while Whitfield rushed for 75 yards and a pair of touchdowns. Whitfield didn't just play on offense: he also picked up 1.5 sacks and made five total tackles. Gavan Steinberg got in on the action as well, converting a pick into a touchdown.

Glendale dropped their record down to 0-2 with the loss, which was their fifth straight on the road dating back to last season. As for Meyersdale, they have started the season off flawlessly and has a 2-0 record to show for it.

Glendale and Meyersdale will both get their first taste of in-conference action in their upcoming games. The Vikings are set to take on their familiar foe Juniata Valley at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Meanwhile, Meyersdale will challenge rival North Star at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
