University had already won 12 in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 9.9 runs) and they went ahead and made it 13 on Thursday. They were the clear victors by a 10-1 margin over The Bay School Breakers. Considering the Red Devils have won 12 matches by more than five runs this season, Thursday's blowout was nothing new.

Jett Messenger made a big impact while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, striking out seven batters over three innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits. Those seven strikeouts gave him a new career-high. He was also big at the plate, going 3-for-4 with four RBI and one run.

In other pitching news, Sabin Verplaetse looked comfortable as he tossed three innings while giving up just one earned run off four hits. What's more, he posted three strikeouts, the most he's had since back in March.

Back at the plate, University let Mattie Grisso and Alexander Coleman run wild. Grisso got on base in all four of his plate appearances with three runs and one triple, while Coleman went 2-for-3 with two runs, one triple, and one double. The team also got some help courtesy of Leo Felder, who went 2-for-4 with two runs and one triple.

University was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .433. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .304 or higher in 15 consecutive contests.

University pushed their record up to 18-1 with the victory, which was their tenth straight at home. Those home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.7 runs on average over those games. As for The Bay School, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 12-5.

Coming up, University will be playing at home against Urban at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. The Red Devils' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Blues have averaged an impressive 7.4 runs per game this season. As for The Bay School, they will venture away from home to square off against Drew at 3:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
