Soccer Game Preview: Butler vs. Central Cabarrus

The Butler Bulldogs are taking a road trip to take on the Central Cabarrus Vikings at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Butler is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 3.4 goals per game this season.

Butler was handed a three-goal defeat in their previous outing, but that didn't affect their clutch gene on Tuesday. They won by a goal and slipped past East Mecklenburg 2-1.

Natalie Pfeiffer was the driving force of Butler's attack as she scored both of Butler's goals, bringing her season total up to seven goals.

Meanwhile, Central Cabarrus waltzed into their match on Friday with five straight wins... but they left with six. They never let the Cougars get on the board and left with a 1-0 victory. That's two games straight that Central Cabarrus have won by just one goal.

Butler's win was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 13-7-2. The road victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 12 goals over those three contests. As for Central Cabarrus, their win bumped their record up to 14-3-1.
