Basketball Recap: Newark Central's Losing Streak Snapped at 12 Games

Newark Central can bid farewell to their 12-game losing streak dating back to last season thanks to their game on Wednesday. They managed a 50-45 victory over the West Side Roughriders. This was a revenge game for the Blue Devils: when they faced off against the Roughriders back in December of 2024, they had to take a 70-69 loss.

Newark Central's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Deon Willis, who posted 17 points in addition to four steals and three blocks. Drean Aikins was another key player, dropping a double-double on 17 points and 12 boards.
