Baseball Recap: Basalt Longhorns vs. Eaton Reds

Basalt had lost seven straight on the road, but on Saturday they dropped their record down to 9-12 to make it eight. They came up short against the Eaton Reds, falling 14-4. The Longhorns were not able to make up for their loss to the Reds from their previous meeting back in May of 2024.

Basalt saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Karson Schneider, who got on base in all three of his plate appearances with one run. Nate Donnelly was another, getting on base in two of his three plate appearances with two RBI.

As for Eaton, they are on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last nine matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 17-6 record this season. The result was nothing new for Eaton, who have now won 12 contests by six runs or more so far this season.
