Football Recap: Carnegie Comes Up Short

After flying high against Apache last Friday, Carnegie came back down to earth. The Wildcats came up short against the Southwest Covenant Patriots on Friday, falling 27-2. The contest marked the Wildcats' lowest-scoring game so far this season.

Carnegie's defeat dropped their record down to 2-4. As for Southwest Covenant, their victory was their first in the district, bumping their district record up to 1-2 and their overall record up to 4-2.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming matchups. Carnegie will take on Mooreland at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Wildcats will be up against the Bearcats' rather soft defense (which has allowed 39.6 points per game), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance. As for Southwest Covenant, they will venture away from home to face off against Apache at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Patriots will be up against the Warriors' rather soft defense (which has allowed 42.43 points per contest), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance.
