Basketball Recap: Concord Christian Academy Takes a Loss

Concord Christian Academy lost against Calvary Christian Academy back in January and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Concord Christian Academy Minutemen lost to the Calvary Christian Academy LIONS at home by a 46-29 margin. The Minutemen have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Despite the defeat, Concord Christian Academy saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Gabriel Franco posted 15 points.

Among those leading the charge was JR Gillespie (HS), who dropped a double-double on ten points and 11 rebounds. Alexander Benton also deserves some recognition as he pulled down his first boards of the season.

Concord Christian Academy's loss dropped their record down to 2-5. As for Calvary Christian Academy, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 6-8.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Concord Christian Academy will square off against Chestertown Christian Academy at 6:15 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Calvary Christian Academy, they will take on Faith Baptist School at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
