Baseball Recap: Discovery Warriors vs. Lakeview Charter Lions
Discovery extended their losing streak to three on Tuesday, dropping their season record down to 1-10-1 in the process. They were two runs away from ending the streak, but they lost an 11-9 heartbreaker at the hands of the Lakeview Charter Lions. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Lions this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 13-1 back in March.
Gavino Figueroa was cooking despite his team's loss, going 3-for-4 with two doubles and one run. Another player making a difference was Bairon Lemus, who got on base in three of his six plate appearances with two runs.
As for Lakeview Charter, they are on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 11-8 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.8 runs over those games.

Discovery wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next match, a 17-1 defeat against Sun Valley Magnet on the 9th. As for Lakeview Charter, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next game, a 16-4 victory against Bert Corona Charter on the 8th.
